Land Justice & We The Land! Coordinator

NEFOC is excited to open applications for the Land Justice (Western Massachusetts) & We the Land! 2026 Coordinator, a temporary, part-time contract role at the heart of our land justice work in Western Massachusetts and the next We the Land! convergence. This position is an opportunity to help advance land and food sovereignty with Indigenous, Black, and other farmers and land stewards of color, while supporting a visionary regional gathering centered on ancestral knowledge, ceremony, and regenerative futures.

The search is focused on finding someone rooted in land justice and community organizing who can build strong relationships, coordinate complex details, and practice transparent record-keeping using shared tools like Air Table, Google Drive, and Monday. NEFOC looks forward to collaborating with a contractor who brings deep values alignment, strong follow-through, and excitement about co-creating We the Land! 2026 alongside BIPOC land stewards and our broader network.

This position is beginning as a contractor in a part time capacity and is dependent on continued funding. We are hoping to make the position full time and permanent in late 2026 or early 2027.

Development Consultant

NEFOC is seeking a Development Consultant to help grow and sustain the resources needed for long-term land and food sovereignty led by Indigenous, Black, and other land stewards of color across the Northeast. This temporary, contract role will partner closely with NEFOC staff and leadership to strengthen values-aligned fundraising systems, deepen relationships with donors and funders, and support campaigns that move land, capital, and resources into the hands of BIPOC communities.

The Development Consultant will bring experience in grassroots and institutional fundraising, land trust fundraising, grant writing, and donor communications, along with a strong alignment with NEFOC’s reparations, rematriation, and Indigenous reciprocity frameworks. NEFOC is excited to collaborate with someone who can weave compelling storytelling, strategic relationship-building, and clear documentation to support resource mobilization for programs like the Mutual Roots Fund, Black Land Stewardship, We the Land!, and our broader network of over 700 farmers and land stewards.
