Grow Food Northampton (GFN) and the Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust (NEFOC) are offering an opportunity to lease farmland and below-market rate housing in Florence, MA, starting in 2025. This partnership aims to advance equity, food sovereignty, and ecological stewardship while fostering local food systems. The Grow Food Northampton Community Farm, situated on 121 acres with a rich agricultural history, is seeking applicants who align with values of ethical land stewardship, food justice, and community-centered farming. The opportunity includes leasing farmland on the GFN Community Farm and living in one of two three-bedroom units in a duplex adjacent to the farm. Applications will be accepted until we find the right fit. The available land includes 1 acre outside the 100-year flood plain, with shared infrastructure such as water, electricity, and farming equipment. The maximum per-acre fee for the land lease is $400 per year, with a sliding scale offered for farmers from disadvantaged groups.
