Community Conservation Program

Terran Shield & Co-director: Hyperion Çaca Yvaire

The Community Conservation (CC) program will defend and strengthen relationships, policies, collaborations, and knowledge exchange among Black, Indigenous, and other Land stewards of Color in the Northeast, to advance Land sovereignty and ecological health projects related to environmental protection in Northeast, and to provide development support for similar programs across the country. The CC program uplifts the our vision of conserving native species ecosystems, sustainable human habitat, regenerative agriculture, ceremony, and cultural preservation and offers alternative land access mechanisms that challenge and transcend production and extraction. The CC program calls in community as the experts, and recognizes community that includes more than human beings such as:

  • Rights of Nature & Personhood

  • Ceremony

  • Kincentric Environmental Law

  • Regenerative Community defense
