Got Questions?

The Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust is a BIPOC-led organization dedicated to positively impacting the health and wellness outcomes of BIPOC communities and the lands and non-human beings in the Northeast region of what is now known as the United States, an area that comprises the traditional territories of many, many sovereign nations, by advancing equitable land access that simultaneously prioritizes honoring Indigenous sovereignty. Below you will find some of the most commonly-asked questions we’ve received over the first few years of our existence. We hope these help you consider how you might engage with us and your own communities, organizations, collectives, and the lands you call home.

Consulting & Partnership

Q: Our organization has a grant or partnership idea that we'd like to have NEFOC Land Trust consider:

A: We are happy to consider partnership and grant collaborations (including letters of support, requests for review of materials, programs, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives) with values-aligned partners. Please refer to our current program structure to see which Co-director to reach out to. Please note that we require fulsome involvement in the proposal co-creation process.

Q: We would like you to consult on our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives, craft a land acknowledgment, or other consulting work.

A: We currently don't have the capacity to consult on these initiatives. Consider checking out Racial Equity Tools or Policies, Practices, and Programs for Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for how to start. For Land and Territory Acknowledgments, please refer to the amazing work of Native Land and ensure that you support their work.
